Dig out your favourite costume because the annual Halloween Trick or Treat celebrations are back on the calendar for 2015.
Note that the event will be held on Friday, 30 October rather than on Halloween itself to keep this as an after school event.
There will be more activities for children in the public spaces in town, bouncy castles and some new Halloween themed goodies in addition to treats from Cadbury.

The Taupo Halloween Film Festival celebrates the best that cinema has to offer. Showcasing films from the next generation of emerging storytellers, offering an impressive selection of competitive and non-competitive programming. Bringing films, both domestic and international, to the silver screen of starlight cinema in Taupo New Zealand.
Taupo is known as a hub of activity and this is no different on halloween night with the Film Festival being a place for audiences and filmmakers to engage with one another. The Festival aim is to be an exciting family friendly affair that features a host of screenings, Scares in the haunted theatre, Meet and Greet with the artists, and an audience costume competition.

There is no better excuse to get dressed up than Halloween. Bring the whole family down to Whanganui’s CBD where the kids can trick or treat in a safe and friendly environment, get their faces painted, have a dance at a spooky disco or a bounce on the bouncy castle. For adults and ‘big kids’ join in a ghost tour of the CBD’s most haunted sites. Come down, rattle your chains and join in the spooky fun – if you dare!
3pm–5pm Trick or Treat in marked CBD stores, 5pm head to a spooky disco at Majestic Sq, 5pm & 6pm join a tour of the CBD’s most haunted sites (suitable for children and adults aged 10+) departing from the I-Site, Taupo Quay, also face painting, bouncy castle and look out for the roaming zombie performers.

Head down to the Whanganui Regional Museum this Halloween for a spook-alicious evening of tricks, treats and surprises!
Experience the Museum’s haunted trail filled with skeletons, ghosts, creepy crawlies and many more critters waiting in the shadows. Be in to win prizes, and come along dressed in a creepy costume and complete the trail to take a treat from our ghoul-tacular sack of goodies. Don’t miss the photo booth at the end too!
Entry through the Davis Theatre on Watt Street.
