A coffee kiosk and changing rooms are on the list of things being added to the natural hot springs in Spa Park, Taupo.

The number of visitors a day has increased from 500 in 2004 to 1500 in 2016 which has led to damage to the site. Visitors are ‘Bush toileting’ and leaving rubbish on the site along with anti-social behaviour that follows that.

Taupo Council are proposing a toilet block and changing rooms with a viewing platform placed on top, and lastly the footbridge that is there

currently will be moved upstream to help lesson the erosion around the existing bridge.
