After seven seasons of faking it, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has finally made a real Khaleesi transformation.
Clarke has been famously sporting a platinum wig to film scenes as Daenarys Targaryen to cover up her naturally dark hair for years, but has committed to dying her hair blonde ahead of filming for the HBO show’s eighth and final season.
She seems quite chuffed with it?
AAAAHHHHHHH SHHHHIIIII****** 🤢 I done did it. Mother of dragons meet Emilia. Emilia meet mother of dragons. If you squint just so you might never know. 🐉⚡️ All hail to the magnificence of @kevalexanderhair and @candicebanks74 the genius creators of ‘KHALEESI WIG’ (and not forgetting all the hair on game of thrones for 8 glorious years) for at long last making this magical moment a reality. 🙌🔥❤️🏆💃😎👌 #khaleesikicksoff #gameofthrones #cominghomeneverfeltsogood
Clarke shared a photo from the hairstylist’s chair on the set – you can see the pic of the Hound, Sandor Clegane, just over her right shoulder – to show off her “Mother of Dragons” makeover.
Her hair is clearly something she’s been looking to change for some time.
“It’s silly to say, but when I take the wig off at the end of the day, I’m rather disappointed when I look in the mirror.”
Any hope of going incognito is likely to be over now, thanks to the new ‘do – although it’s certain to be some time before we see it on the small screen.
Production for Game of Thrones season eight is reportedly scheduled to begin in October, with the possibility the show won’t return until late 2018 or even early 2019.
