A wine distillery in Veneto, Italy, lost thousands of gallons of prosecco after a fermentation tank exploded. The tank burst and spilled over in Conegliano, Veneto, in the province of Treviso, due to being too full. TOO FULL? We could’ve helped with that!
The post has attracted thousands of comments from grieving Prosecco lovers, many of whom are from Britain – the world’s biggest consumers of the drink.
Lucy Addison wrote: ‘We need to pack up the rubber dinghies and long straws and find this place.’
Zoe Hall commented: ‘I’d be stood underneath with my mouth open and a bucket to catch it and take it home.’
Emily Sutton said: ‘This may explain why I heart Prosecco has gone up in price?! They lost half the stock?’
“Prosecco lovers, cover your eyes. You’re about to witness a tragedy.” 😂 https://t.co/87ZpKEilbY
