The new playground at the Taumarunui Domain was opened on Saturday 6th July by Deputy Mayor Karen Ngatai.
The new playground consists of senior multi-play equipment, a natural water activity, swing zone, junior play train, footpath and a wheelchair accessible carousel. The new equipment was trialed by children following the opening and given the thumbs up.
Some minor works, which couldn’t be undertaken last week due to wet weather, are needed to finish the double flying fox and it is looking like it will ready for use pretty soon.
The next phase of the playground upgrade will include a shelter, new bbq and picnic tables and will be completed over time as budget allows.
