Newly opened rooftop bar in Auckland, The Churchill, is defending it’s pricing on drinks stating that “What you’re paying for is the breathtaking views of being able to enjoy a beverage or a bite to eat 20 floors up at the highest rooftop bar in New Zealand.”
People wanting a Heineken will have to part with $16 per pint, equivalent to almost double Auckland’s average price of a pint, $9.05. Interestingly the cost of two pints at The Churchill is level with a 12 pack of Heineken from your local liquor store.
The bar presents itself as an ideal spot for an after-work drink, offering “music throwing you back to the 1930s swing era with décor to compliment it”. Just not the prices to match.
