Organisers have pulled the pin on the Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer Hella Mega Tour of Australia and New Zealand scheduled for November this year.

In a statement released by the bands today, they said they were “bummed” that international travel restrictions and various rules around gatherings enforced due to Covid-19 meant they couldn’t go ahead.

”We kept trying to put this piece of the puzzle together, but unfortunately it’s just not possible due to the uncertainty of the government Covid-19 travel restrictions, mass gatherings and most importantly for the safety of our fans, crew and staff,” they wrote.

“We love you all and we’ll be back there rocking with you at some point.”

The iconic American rock bands were due to play two joint stadium shows – Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium on November 20 and Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium on November 22.

Rivers Cuomo and Scott Shriner of Weezer made the announcement via social media today.
