Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, have welcomed a baby boy.
Their child arrived weighing 7lbs 3oz (3.35kgs) at 5.26am on Monday (UK time – 4.26pm on Monday New Zealand time). Mother and baby are doing well. Some of the details – especially where the birth took place – are yet to be revealed by the palace or the couple.
Harry, the Duke of Sussex, was by his wife’s side for the birth and said he was “over the moon” as he announced the arrival.
The baby hasn’t been named yet, but is seventh in line to the UK throne, and will be eligible to be a joint UK-US citizen as Meghan Markle is from the US.
Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland is with the royal couple at Frogmore House.
The royal family, including the Queen, Prince Philip, Harry’s father Prince Charles, and his brother Prince William are said to be “delighted with the news”.
