Managed isolation case arrived on 29/08/2020, in MI in Christchurch, tested positive on day 3.

Ongoing Testing

Govt had set a target of around 10k tests per day over the past week, with around 2/3 of those tests occurring in Auckland. We have more or less hit these targets.

There will be a continued focused on testing at the airport/ports, in MIQ, and in wider community.

Three target groups:

  • People With cold and flu symptoms

  • Contacts of people or places that have had COVID-19

  • Contacts of contacts

By Monday will have completed two full rounds of testing of airports and MIQ staff.

Uptake in New Zealand is above 50% of adult population. For comparison Ireland has seen an uptake of 37%, and Australia 24%
