A positive Covid-19 case has been detected in Taupō.
Taupō mayor, David Trewavas confirmed that the Ministry of Health has informed him of a positive Covid-19 test result was returned last night. Trewavas is still awaiting further details.
The mayor expressed disappointment and said he knew the day would unfortunately come. He’s urging locals to get tested and vaccinated.
There were 81 people in hospital with Covid-19 yesterday, including 11 in intensive care units. The Central North Island remains at Alert Level 2
