The 2020 Aotearoa Music Awards have been handed out with Benee and The Beths taking home the top prizes.
‘Superlonely’ hitmaker Benee won Te Waiata Tōtahi o te Tau | Single of the Year, Te Kaipuoro Takitahi Toa | Best Solo Artist and Te Kaipuoro Arotini Toa | Best Pop Artist, and was recognised with the International Achievement award.
Auckland indie-pop band The Beths won three Tui at the awards: Te Pukaemi o te Tau | Album of the Year, along with both Te Roopu Toa | Best Group and Te Kaipuoro Manohi Toa | Best Alternative Artist for the second year running.
Jawsh 685, Six60, Mōhau, L.A.B and City of Souls were among the other winners.
The ceremony was hosted by Jesse Mulligan, Sharyn Casey and Jayden King at Auckland’s Spark Arena.
