Fitness trackers, they’re everywhere in the form of smartwatches and smartphone apps. They can have a significant impact on your physical activity. New research out of Australia has found the use of fitness technology leads to an average increase of almost 2000 daily steps.
The University of Sydney research, published recently in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, analysed data from 28 studies published between 2014 and 2019
A review of the research found that on average, people’s step counts increased by 1850 steps per day by the 13-week follow-up when an app or wearable fitness tracker was used.
So if 10,000 steps a day is your New Year resolution, then get your hands on a fitness tracker and you’ll already be a fifth of the way there! (Your Welcome)
