You can search for any unclaimed money to see if there’s any cash under your name that could be heading your way. Say what?!
Apparently it gets updated regularly, but surprisingly, it’s a pretty well hidden secret and loads of people don’t know about it, which is exactly why we are letting you know!

According to IRD, you can search for unclaimed money for yourself, on behalf of someone else or an organisation, trust or estate.
Just so you’re on the right page, this is not money owed by IRD, but by other companies – They just use IRD as the middleman to get in contact with you and to make sure you are who you say you are.
If you have a MyIR account it’ll be a heck of a lot easier for you to find out if there’s any money owed to you.
“As we know who you are, you do not have to supply identification details. You just need to give us additional information about the connection you have with the money,” the website reads.
